The project

The dubbing party game

With Mimikit, everyone brings their favorite videos, imagines a dub, then watches the group's creations before voting for the funniest one.

Private lobbies

A focused session for the people actually playing together.

Local recording

Each player records their own take before the replay begins.

Live scoring

Votes and results stay synchronized for the whole room.

How it works

Four beats, one round.

  1. 01 · Clip

    Add a short video

The host loads the material that will set up the round.

  2. 02 · Dub

    Record a new voice

Each player improvises while watching the same scene.

  3. 03 · Replay

    Watch every take

The room hears the dubs back-to-back on a shared timeline.

  4. 04 · Vote

    Pick the best one

Everyone votes, the score drops, and the next round can begin.

Private for now

The game is ready to share. The usage frame still needs care.

Because Mimikit works with video excerpts, questions around copyright, permitted use, and the broader legal frame still deserve a cautious approach. For now, I keep access limited to friends rather than opening it publicly.

If you would like to try it, I can still grant access case by case. The easiest way to ask is through my GitHub profile.
